Collin county residents will appreciate the resolution of the traffic problem by having new intersections by the North Texas tollway Authority. Dallas business journal mentioned the latest news on the road constructions in Dallas Collin County area in Plano, McKinney and Frisco.
Dallas business journal announced that The North Texas Tollway Authority is moving forward on two projects to improve traffic conditions in Collin County by Matt Jones.
Collin County’s traffic would improve effectively after the North Texas Tollway projects in Frisco and Plano, the authority plans to start placing 300-foot steel beams to build the new Sam Rayburn Tollway-Dallas North Tollway section.
Authority spokesman Michael Rey said the budget for the five-level interchange is $80 million. The project began in February 2010 and is scheduled for ending in January 2012.
The North Texas Tollway Authority has opened a new direct-connecting ramp at the Sam Rayburn Tollway and U.S. Highway 75 intersection in McKinney area. The new ramp directly connects southwest-bound tollway lanes to southbound U.S. 75 highway main lanes.
Rey said the new ramp makes up $14 million of the interchange project’s total cost of $220 million. The project began in December 2008 and the authority hopes to open the final direct connector ramp this month.
Collin county residents are excited to see the completion of other intersections in the area like 121 highways to Dallas North Tollway.
Exciting news for Plano students of Memorial Elementary School and Weatherford Elementary School which Plano Independent School District, Plano ISD has hired Cadence McShane Construction Co. to build the new single story, 77,000 sqf Memorial Elementary School at 2600 Avenue R Plano according to REBusinessOnline.
Weatherford Elementary School’s mission is inspiring all students to achieve their personal best.
The construction team will also renovate Weatherford Elementary School at 2941 Mollimar Dr. Plano by improving the current 64,969 sf of existing space and planning to add 3,394 sf to existing school area.
PBK is providing architectural services for the Memorial project while Perkins + Will has been named project architect for the Weatherford development.
Weatherford Elementary School and Memorial Elementary School are scheduled to be ready for fall 2012 completion dates for Plano students.

Dallas follows with a population of 1.3 million to Houston has the fourth highest population with 2.3 million and San Antonio was not too far behind at number seven with 1.4 million according to Business First.

A recent study by CoreLogic Inc. shows Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos has the lowest in the nation at 4.2 months. San Antonio-New Braunfels is next at 4.7, followed by Fort Worth-Arlington at 6.3. Dallas - Irving – Plano homes have the fifth lowest inventory at 6.7 months, while Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown is seventh with 7.3 months.
Texas’ average shadow home inventory is 5.5 months. The average inventory among the 50 largest U.S. cities included in CoreLogic’s study is about 16 months.
